Adopting is one of the best things you can do

Come visit our shelter to find your purr-fect match! We can tell you about the personality and history of each cat and kitten, as well as their compatibility with other cats, dogs and kids. There’s a lovable furry friend waiting for you!

Pet Haven also has off-site adoptions at PetSmart in Nampa.

Adoptable Cats

All cats up for adoption have been spayed or neutered, have had at least one distemper combo vaccination and a rabies vaccination, and have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV.

Adoption Fees

Kittens up to 6 months: $80
6 months - 3 years: $70
3 years - 7 years: $55
7+ years: $40

Military discount: $10 off adoption price, and our thanks for your service!

Senior for Seniors: For adopters age 55 and up, cats 7+ years old are only $20 (normally $35).

Barn Cats: $25. Barn cats are working cats, excellent mousers that provide pest control for rural areas. Also, since they are spayed/neutered, they cannot reproduce with any cats that come onto your property, helping control the local stray cat population.

NOTE: To avoid confusion, barn cats are not listed on the Adoptable Cats page —they are unsocialized and would not do well in a home. But given time, they often develop a bond with their owners.

Adoption Process

Visit us in-person to meet cats and kittens that stay with us in the shelter. We are located in Nampa off Caldwell Blvd and Orchard.

Off-site adoptions happen at the Nampa PetSmart location.

While you are in our shelter you will be able to see our current adoptable cats in our Cattery. Please understand that we cannot guarantee availability of specific cats. We update our listings on our website as quickly as we can, but a change in a cat’s status may occur before your visit.

Expect your visit to take at least one hour. If you decide to adopt you will need to account for paperwork, health record updates, and potentially vaccinations. All adoptions require the applicant to be at least 18, and provide a state ID.

Because they take time to complete, adoptions are cut off at 5:30pm Tuesday-Friday, and 3:30pm on Saturdays. You may place holds on a cat at any time during openings hours.

Placing Holds

If you need more time to think about your decision, you can place a 24-hour hold on a cat.

NOTE: Holds may only be placed in-person at the shelter. Off-site adoptions and foster cats cannot be put on hold.

Pet Haven reserves the right to decline an adoption for any reason.
